Description
CRASSULA ovata ‘New Sunset’. 2-3′ tall, 1-2′ spread, full sun-partial shade. Glossy, oval-shaped leaves display striking shades of green, yellow and red, especially under bright light or cool temperatures. This compact, branching plant developing a tree-like structure with age. Brighter light enhancing its colorful foliage. Prefers well-draining soil with deep but infrequent watering, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Blooming typically in late winter to early spring, it may produce clusters of small, star-shaped white or pale pink flowers, though flowering is more common in mature or outdoor specimens. Zones 10-12, is not frost-tolerant and should be grown indoors or protected in cooler climates. Its vibrant color and low-maintenance needs make it an excellent choice for containers, bonsai-style plantings, or sunny indoor spaces.
