Description
GALIUM odoratum. 6″ tall, 12″ spread, part-full shade, late spring bloom. Tiny, white, star-shaped flowers appear above a carpet of bright green foliage. Leaves are fragrant when crushed. Beautiful, even when not in bloom! Rapid growth. Deer resistant. Zones 4-8. Potted in 3″ pot.
Galium does best in partial to full shade in moist, acidic, well-drained soil. Though it will survive in drier soils, it may become ragged by late summer, so moist soil is preferable. This is a quickly spreading groundcover, but it can easily be kept in bounds.
